Are you looking for something to listen to while you’re working on pots? Do you want to stay informed of current clay news but don’t want to get clay on your keyboard? How about hearing some thoughts and opinions from some of the best in the ceramics community? Pottery podcasts may be just the thing you are looking for.
New Pottery Podcast!
I’ve started my very own pottery podcast over at Expert Clay. Find the MudTalk Podcast and listen to thoughts on a new clay related topic every episode.
What is a Podcast?
According to Google a podcast is:
a digital audio file made available on the Internet for downloading to a computer or portable media player, typically available as a series, new installments of which can be received by subscribers automatically.
Podcasts have become extremely popular and there seems to be a podcast covering almost every topic imaginable. The good news for us clay folks is that there are multiple podcasts about pottery and ceramics! Below you will find information about popular pottery podcasts.
Brian R. Jonescast
Brian R. Jones is one of the pioneers of pottery podcasting. He released his first episode back in June 2011 and has released 60 more episodes since then. He edits very little and is willing to share his own struggles as he interviews ceramic artists and other creative people. The Jonescast may not be the most polished of the pottery podcasts but the authenticity is refreshing.

I listen to many of these potterycasts while I’m working in the studio but sometimes I switch to NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me or Ask Me Another podcasts. I really enjoy them and get inspired by the pottery discussions.
Thank you so much much for spreading the word about the podcasts. Lots of love to you!
